    • In-patient Hospitalization: Aditya Birla Health Insurance will cover expenses such as hospital room rent, doctor’s fee, operation theatre expenses and other consumables under the policy as per your eligibility.

      You have a choice to select your hospital room category:
      • Any room (available for sum insured greater than Rs. 7 lakhs)
      • Single Private Room
      • Shared Room (available for sum insured less than Rs. 5 lakhs)
    • Benefit for Hospital Room Choice: Aditya Birla Health Insurance gives you the flexibility on choosing the room category that you want, but if you get treated in a lower room category than eligible, you get a pre-defined percentage of payable claims back in the form of HealthReturnsTM.
    • HealthReturnsTM: Aditya Birla Health Insurance policy rewards you for staying fit and healthy and these rewards are accumulated in the form of HealthReturnsTM. You can use these rewards for something as small as getting medicines for a fever or even for a surgery that is not covered due to a waiting period or excluded in the policy. You can also use this for paying your future premiums.
    • Chronic Management Program: Aditya Birla Health Insurance cover chronic illnesses of diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and asthma. The team of specialists and doctors help you keep these conditions in control through consultation with medical practitioners, diagnostics tests and pharmacy benefits.
    • Worldwide Emergency Assistance Services: Where a medical facility is not available near you and you need immediate medical help, Aditya Birla Health Insurance will evacuate you in an air ambulance if required, and then take you back home.
    • Reload of Sum Insured: In case the sum insured with cumulative bonus (if any) is insufficient as a result of previous claims in that policy year, then you get an additional sum insured for your health needs resulting out of an illness unrelated to previous claims in that policy year.
      In case of a hospitalisation due to an accident, reload of sum insured can be triggered in the 1st claim itself.
    • Pre and post hospitalization Medical Expenses: Aditya Birla Health Insurance cover your expenses 60 days before you get admitted to a hospital and 180 days after you get discharged from a hospital, if your in-patient hospitalization claim has been accepted.
    • Day Care Treatment: Certain medical procedures do not require a 24-hour hospitalization; Aditya Birla Health Insurance will cover you for such 527 day care procedures.
    • Organ Donor Expenses: In case of organ transplants, Aditya Birla Health Insurance not only cover you but also covers the medical expenses of the organ donor for harvesting the organ.
    • Road Ambulance Cover: In case of an emergency, Aditya Birla Health Insurance will cover costs incurred on transportation to a hospital as per actuals if services are availed from a network provider and Rs. 5,000 per hospitalization in a non-network provider.

Waiting periods and key exclusions

  • First 30 days waiting period: Any treatment during the first 30 days from the policy start date shall not be covered, unless the treatment is required as a result of an accident.
  • Two years waiting period: Two years waiting period will be applicable for specific illnesses / conditions and their complications.
  • Pre-existing disease waiting period: 36 months waiting period will be applicable for any pre-existing diseases / illness / injury / conditions.

Key Exclusions:

Aditya Birla Health Insurance will not pay any claims arising out of or attributable to any of the following:

  • HIV / AIDS and its complications
  • Genetic disorders
  • Mental disorders

    • Individual Policy - Minimum entry age 5 years and there is no maximum age of entry

    • Family Floater Policy - Dependent children from 91 days to 5 years will be covered only if one adult is covered in the floater policy. There is no maximum age of entry. Up to 6 members (2 adults + 4 children) covered comprising of self, spouse and dependent children (up to 25 years) in a single policy
  • Pre-existing disease waiting period: 48 months

Coverage


  • In-patient Hospitalization: In case of a hospitalization of more than 24 hours due to a planned treatment or an unforeseen emergency, expenses like room rent, doctor’s fee, operation theatre expenses, medicines, drugs and other consumables are covered under the policy as per customer’s eligibility.
  • Pre-hospitalization medical expenses: Customer may incur expenses for consultations or diagnostic tests before hospitalization, such costs will be covered up to 30 days before hospitalization where a claim under in-patient hospitalisation / domiciliary hospitalization / day care treatment is accepted.
  • Post-hospitalization medical expenses: Customer may incur expenses for medicines, diagnostic tests or physiotherapy, such costs will be covered up to 60 days after discharge from the hospital where a claim under in-patient hospitalisation / domiciliary hospitalization / day care treatment is accepted.
  • Day care treatment: Due to advancements in medical science, certain medical procedures like a dialysis may not require a 24-hour hospitalization, this plan covers the customer for such 586 procedures as well.
  • Domiciliary Hospitalization (Home Care): Medical expenses covered in case customer need to get treated at home, if the health condition did not allow hospital transfer or due to unavailability of a bed at the hospital
  • Road Ambulance Cover: In case of an emergency, costs incurred on transportation to a hospital by a road ambulance is covered as per eligibility.
  • Organ Donor Expenses: In case of organ transplants to the customer, not only the customer is covered , but also the medical expenses of the organ donor for harvesting the organ for customer’s use, as per the eligibility.
  • Reload of Sum Insured: In case the sum insured with no claim bonus (if any) / super NCB (if opted) is insufficient as a result of previous claims in that policy year, then customer gets an additional 150% of sum insured, maximum up to 50 lakhs, for hospitalization due to an illness unrelated to previous claims in that policy year.
  • AYUSH In-patient treatment: Customer is paid as per eligibility, for medical expenses incurred towards in-patient hospitalization under AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) treatment.
  • Daily Allowance: For each day that the customer gets hospitalized, he gets an additional benefit of Rs. 500 per day as daily allowance. This benefit shall be payable for a maximum limit of 5 days per hospitalization and is applicable only for sum insured up to Rs. 4 lakhs.
  • Vaccination: Vaccination expenses for children up to 18 years of age included in the policy will be covered as per the schedule provided. This benefit is applicable only for sum insured of 1 crore and above.
  • No Claim Bonus: With this plan, customer gets benefits even if he does not claim. Customer gets No Claim Bonus which is 10% of sum insured for each year that customer does not claim. Whenever there is a claim, No Claim Bonus reduces by the same rate at which it increased, which is 10% of sum insured. The maximum limit for No Claim Bonus is 50% of sum insured.
  • Health Check-up Program: Free health check-up for each and every insured member once in a policy year is given, customized to the life stage customer is in. The tests are based on the age and sum insured.
  • Second E-Opinion on Critical Illness: When it comes to detection of a major illness such a cancer, kidney failure or heart attack, then a second opinion is always helpful. This plan provides the customer with a second e-opinion through a consortium of well qualified specialists.
  • Domestic / International Emergency Assistance Services (including Air Ambulance): We travel on work or sometimes to get away from our busy lives and sometimes we may end up going to places that are remote. In such cases where an adequate medical facility is not available and customer needs medical help, this plan helps customer reach such a medical facility and then take him back to his home.
  • HealthReturnsTM: This plan rewards customers for staying fit and healthy and these rewards are accumulated in the form of HealthReturnsTM. Customers can start earning HealthReturnsTM by completing the following steps

    • Complete a health assessment which as a result provides customer’s a healthy heart score
    • Start exercising to earn Active Dayz
    • Earn HealthReturnsTM monthly based on the accumulated Activ DayzTM and Healthy Heart Score. Customers can use these HealthReturnsTM for something as small as getting medicines for a fever or even for a surgery that is not covered due to a waiting period or exclusion in the policy. Furthermore, he can use HealthReturnsTM for paying premium from the first renewal of the policy.
  • Health Coach: At times when customer is suffering from any of the chronic conditions, a coaching session with a specialist may help. This plan gives customer a personalized coaching by a medical expert who will guide him through his health journey when he is suffering from asthma, hypertension, hyperlipidemia or diabetes mellitus. These coaching session shall be provided on telephonic discussion with the customer to help him become healthier version of himself.

Optional Covers

  • Unlimited reload of Sum Insured: Through this optional cover, customer’s sum insured can be reinstated unlimited times, whenever needed it the most. If, due to claims made, customer runs out of his health cover, this plan will reinstate the entire sum insured unlimited times in a policy year. This benefit is an extension of reload of sum insured.
  • Super NCB: With Super NCB, customer’s sum insured increases by 50% every claim-free year with a maximum accumulation of 100% of sum insured. The accumulated Super NCB serves as an extension to the inbuilt NCB. Customer can opt for Super NCB either when applying for the policy, or at renewal. In case of a claim, Super NCB reduces at the same rate at which it has increased, which is 50% of sum insured.
  • Any room upgrade: This optional cover gives customer the necessary freedom and helps him to get admitted in a hospital without any restriction on type of room. This optional cover is applicable for sum insured Rs. 5 lakh and above.

Waiting Periods and Key Exclusions

  • Cosmetic, aesthetic and re-shaping treatments and surgeries
  • Hearing aids, spectacles or contact lenses including optometric therapy
  • Psychiatric or psychological disorders, mental disorders
